Understanding Your Treatment

What Is Pixel CO2 Laser and How Does It Work?

Pixel CO2 Laser uses fractional carbon dioxide laser energy to create thousands of microscopic treatment zones in the skin while leaving surrounding tissue intact. This fractional approach is what makes the treatment both effective and manageable in terms of recovery.

The laser energy does two things simultaneously. First, it ablates the outermost damaged skin layers, removing surface irregularities, pigmentation, and textural concerns that have built up over years. Second, the heat from the laser penetrates into the deeper dermal layers, triggering a significant collagen and elastin response that continues for months after treatment.

It works by using CO2 laser energy in conjunction with pixel-level precision, using Alma’s MotionSync® technology to deliver consistent results. MotionSync dynamically coordinates energy delivery and mechanical motion to ensure safe, measured, and uniform skin exfoliation and resurfacing.

A corrective treatment series is typically 3 to 6 consecutive treatments, and the intensity is fully customizable — from light, progressive treatments to heavier, more aggressive settings — so downtime can be tailored to what fits your life. It is safe for all skin types, including darker and melanated skin.

A single session can meaningfully address sun damage, uneven tone, fine lines, acne scarring, stretch marks, skin texture, and mild to moderate laxity all at once.

Typical downtime is 1 day of visible redness, followed by 3 to 4 days of light exfoliation, and the results that emerge are typically dramatic and long-lasting.

Every treatment at Springs Body Sculpting is performed under the oversight of Dr. Dunham and our team of board-certified surgeons and trained estheticians, bringing extensive experience in cosmetic procedures to every session.
