Understanding Your Treatment

What Is Exosome Therapy and How Does It Work?

Powered by SMART Solutions Rx

SMART eXo - exosome therapy

Exosomes are naturally occurring nanoparticles released by cells that carry growth factors, proteins, and signaling molecules used for cell-to-cell communication. In topical form, exosome solutions are applied directly to the scalp or skin — most often immediately following a treatment like TED hair restoration, microneedling, or Morpheus8 — to help deliver those growth factors deeper and support the skin’s own repair process. At Springs Body Sculpting and Aesthetics, exosome therapy is offered as an add-on layered into an existing protocol rather than as a stand-alone treatment: for hair, it’s used alongside TED to give thinning or more stubborn follicles extra support; for skin, it’s paired with Morpheus8 and other resurfacing treatments to support collagen and elastin production. Exosome products are not FDA-approved as a drug or medical treatment, and clinical research into their aesthetic use is still developing — Dr. Dunham and his team will walk you through what the current evidence does and doesn’t show before adding it to your plan.

Every treatment at Springs Body Sculpting is performed under the oversight of Dr. Dunham and our team of board-certified surgeons and trained estheticians, bringing extensive experience in cosmetic procedures to every session.

Free • 30 minutes

Treatment Day

Exosome solution is applied topically immediately after your primary treatment, while the skin or scalp is most receptive — adding minimal time to your visit.

Building Results

Because exosomes support your skin and follicles' own repair process, results build gradually over the following weeks rather than appearing immediately.

Maintaining Results

Most patients repeat exosome applications as part of an ongoing protocol, timed alongside their regular TED or Morpheus8 sessions.

Exosome Therapy FAQs

When will I see results?

Because this treatment is performed as a series of consecutive treatments, results build upon one another with each session, creating a cumulative result by the end of your plan. We always do follow-up photos and measurements throughout your series to track and show your success.

Exosomes are naturally occurring nanoparticles released by cells that carry proteins and growth factors used for cell signaling. In aesthetic use, exosome solutions are applied topically to help deliver those growth factors to the skin or scalp.

No exosome product currently holds FDA approval for aesthetic or medical use. We offer exosome therapy as an emerging, evidence-informed add-on to established treatments, and we’re upfront with patients about what the current research does and doesn’t show.

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is drawn from your own blood, while exosomes are lab-processed nanoparticles typically derived from donor tissue. Both aim to deliver growth factors to support healing and regeneration, but they come from different sources and are applied differently.

Most patients add exosome therapy to 2–4 sessions of an existing protocol, such as TED hair restoration or Morpheus8, rather than using it as a stand-alone series. Dr. Dunham and his team will recommend a schedule based on your goals.

Ready to Add Exosome Therapy to Your Plan?

Dr. Dunham and his team will evaluate whether exosome therapy is a good fit alongside your TED hair restoration, Morpheus8, or other treatment plan. All our treatment protocols are customized and tailored per patient, utilizing our strategic and methodical approach to create comprehensive stacked plans that are results-driven as opposed to being “sales”-driven. Comprehensive treatment plans are complete overarching, and often “stacked” protocols, where we focus on the end-result as the main goal upon completion. We strategically combine tailored methods of various treatments to work in symbiosis with one another to achieve the overall desired result.
